Vehicle Body Technician

Job Summary of Vehicle Body Technician:

The main duty and obligation of an Vehicle Body Technician involve delivering a superior and effective customer service by carefully evaluating and expertly fixing each customer’s vehicle to bring it back to its original state before the accident. The Auto Body Technician meticulously breaks down, fixes, and puts back together each vehicle, contributing significantly to the company’s commitment to efficiency, excellence, and customer satisfaction. The Vehicle Body Technician collaborates with all colleagues to meet the repair facilities' key performance indicators and is devoted to representing The Boyd Group as a loyal Brand Ambassador always.

Responsibilities of Vehicle Body Technician:

• Maintain a high level of adherence to the WOW (Wow Operating Way) strategy to ensure its effective implementation.
• Plans the required repair tasks and provides customers with estimated costs. Utilizes a range of equipment like cutting torches, plasma cutters, hydraulic lifts, mallets, and grips to fix vehicle components.
• Repairs small blemishes on the body by smoothing out dents and imperfections, and utilizes filler resins when necessary for more extensive damage.
• Realignment of automobile chassis and frames is conducted to rectify structural impairments.
• Removes and replaces damaged portions of vehicles with new or aftermarket components. Additionally, performs glass and windshield repairs or replacements as required.
• Provides replacements or conducts repairs on interior components as required.
• Joins and secures components together through welding and other connection methods while also positioning and installing parts correctly. Additionally, readies and refinishes cars using paint specified by the manufacturer or an approved alternative.
• Efforts are made to finish tasks within the specified time frame for labor. Verifies the accuracy of all tasks by examining automobiles post-repair.
• Executes additional tasks as delegated.

Qualification of Vehicle Body Technician:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

COMMISSION:

Commissions for this role are determined by geographical location and financial benchmarks, as well as sales and personal accomplishments, in accordance with the provisions of the strategy.

Should the total pay for a specific period fall below the minimum wage, the hours worked will be adjusted to ensure that at least the local or state minimum wage, whichever is higher, is paid.
